Israeli strikes on Lebanon kill several despite truce

Four individuals were reported dead and around 20 others, including children, wounded in Israeli strikes on Lebanon on Sunday, despite a ceasefire between the two nations, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon denounced the strikes as a "dangerous escalation" targeting civilian administrations and health centers, holding Israel wholly accountable and urging the United States and international community to intervene and hold perpetrators accountable.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed the attacks were retaliation for a "blatant violation" by Hezbollah militants, specifically two drones directed towards IDF soldiers in the Security Zone of southern Lebanon, which reportedly resulted in no Israeli casualties. On Sunday morning, the IDF issued an evacuation alert for the Arab Salim area, citing a Hezbollah facility, leading to a strike on the building identified in the alert.

NNA also reported that enemy warplanes targeted another house, resulting in the deaths of two women, and that an Israeli strike completely destroyed a disused hospital, deeming it another "grave violation of international humanitarian law." The Israeli military stated their targets included a Hezbollah command center inside a building previously used as a hospital and a weapons depot, asserting the strikes were in response to Hezbollah's attack in the Ali Taher Ridge area and to eliminate threats posed by the militant group.
