Terms
Terms of Use
The terms for using urgent.news, how our AI-written summaries work, and how publishers and individuals can reach us.
Last updated 9 August 2026.
By using urgent.news you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.
What urgent.news is
urgent.news reads publishers' public news feeds, groups reports of the same event, and writes its own short summary of each in software, always linking to the original. It is independent and has no partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement relationship with any publisher it links to; publisher names are shown only to credit the source.
AI-written content & accuracy
Our story summaries, the "Editor's take", and translations are generated automatically by software and may contain errors, omissions, or misstatements. The "Editor's take" is AI-generated commentary, not the opinion of a human editor. Always read the linked original before relying on anything here. Nothing on urgent.news is professional, financial, investment, legal, or medical advice.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability — to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, and total liability is limited to a nominal amount. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct).
Acceptable use
Don't bulk-scrape or systematically re-use the site's aggregated output, don't use it unlawfully or abusively, and don't place unreasonable automated load on it. We may restrict access where needed for legal or operational reasons.
For publishers — copyright & takedown
We ingest only what publishers put in their public RSS feeds, we write our own summaries rather than republishing article text, we always link and attribute, and we use small thumbnails. If you'd like your feed excluded, a thumbnail removed, or a specific item taken down, email legal@urgent.news and we'll respond promptly. We also honour standard robots.txt / machine-readable opt-out signals.
Corrections & complaints
If a story is wrong or unfair — especially about a named person or organisation — email legal@urgent.news. We aim to review quickly, will pull or flag an item pending review, and mark corrections visibly rather than editing silently.
Third-party links
Links to publishers are provided for reference; we don't control and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the Singapore courts have jurisdiction over disputes about them. Nothing here removes any protection you're entitled to under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
