Saudi Arabia deports more than 12,600 residency and labour law violators in a week

Saudi Arabia deported over 12,600 individuals found guilty of violations related to residency, labor laws, and border security within a single week, according to the Ministry of Interior. The nationwide inspection campaign, conducted from September 10 to 16, led to the arrest of 14,782 people across the country. Among those apprehended were 7,438 individuals breaking residency laws, 3,782 breaching border security regulations, and 3,562 labor law violators.

Additionally, authorities apprehended 1,450 people attempting to illegally enter Saudi Arabia, with 56% being Ethiopian nationals and 43% Yemenis. Another 25 individuals were caught attempting to exit the country unlawfully. Furthermore, 23 people were arrested for aiding violators by transporting, sheltering, or supporting them in some way.

A total of 31,075 expatriates, comprising 29,171 men and 1,904 women, were undergoing procedures to address their violations. Other individuals were referred to their respective diplomatic missions to secure travel documents or complete departure arrangements. The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone involved in facilitating illegal entry, transporting violators, providing shelter, or offering assistance to such individuals could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SR1 million.

Vehicles used for transportation and properties utilized to shelter violators may also be confiscated.
