iPhone Duo Beats iPhone Air as Apple's Thinnest iPhone, But Only When Open

Apple has unveiled the foldable iPhone Duo, which stands as the company's thinnest iPhone, though only when it is open. Measuring just 5.2mm thick in its unfolded state, it outdoes the 5.6mm iPhone Air by a mere 0.4mm. Rumors had suggested it could be as slim as 4.5mm, comparable to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8, but Apple didn't achieve that level of thinness.

When compared to Apple's own 13-inch iPad Pro, the Duo is slightly thicker at 5.2mm. When folded, the device's thickness increases to 11.3mm. In contrast, current iPhone models like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro Max are both 8.75mm thick. This new model is also Apple's heaviest iPhone to date, weighing in at 254 grams, which is five grams more than the 249-gram iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch display on the inside when opened, and a 5.4-inch display on the outside when closed, boasting a compact, short, and wide design. Pre-orders for the iPhone Duo commence on October 16, followed by its official release on October 23.
