Apple unveils iPhone that folds in half, if that's what you want

Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, a new foldable smartphone that can be folded in half. The announcement was made at Apple's "Surprise And Shine" event, alongside the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable phone, distinct from competitors like the Motorola Razr Fold, Google Pixel Fold, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.

Apple CEO John Ternus emphasized the company's commitment to AI, asserting that the iPhone Duo remains the best personal device for AI due to its deep understanding of the user. The phone supports various functions, such as texting, receiving calls, taking photos, and multitasking with split-screen apps. When unfolded, it features a 7.6-inch continuous screen that allows users to run two apps simultaneously.

The foldable phone can also fold partially, resembling a pet, child, or alarm clock. The iPhone Duo will be available in two price points, starting at $1,999 and up to $3,199, compared to the price of a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Apple has introduced a monthly leasing agreement to make the high-end device more accessible to consumers.
