Raumfahrt: Isar Aerospace startet neuen Raketenversuch

Isar Aerospace, a German aerospace startup based in Ottobrunn, Munich, is attempting a new launch of its carrier rocket, the Spectrum, at the Norwegian launch site Andøya. The company announced that the Spectrum rocket is scheduled to launch at 10:00 PM on Saturday local time, as per a press release. This is not the first attempt for the Spectrum rocket, which first attempted a test flight in the spring of the previous year and crashed into the sea after 30 seconds.

The second attempt was originally planned for January but has been postponed multiple times. The Spectrum rocket is designed to place civilian and military satellites into low Earth orbits, a few hundred kilometers above the Earth's surface. The Munich-based company aims to produce 40 rockets per year. According to the company, Isar Aerospace currently has orders worth several hundred million dollars until 2028, despite the rocket not being ready for series production.
