Isar Aerospace reaches orbit and deploys payloads on second flight

September 5, 2026 – Isar Aerospace, a European commercial space company, has achieved a historic milestone by successfully launching satellites into orbit on its second flight. The mission, named 'Onward and Upward', departed from Isar Aerospace's dedicated launch complex in Andøya, Norway, at 10:12 pm CEST. CEO Daniel Metzler expressed pride in the team's accomplishment, stating that their success marks a significant shift in European spaceflight.

This achievement comes just a few years after similar progress took the European space industry decades to make. Isar Aerospace's pioneering model involves building launch vehicles and a vertically integrated production facility, which enables the company to manufacture up to 40 launch vehicles annually. With its new 40,000 m² production facility, Isar Aerospace is poised to meet the growing global demand for space launches.

The company's 'Spectrum' launch vehicles, with sizes ranging from 3 to 7, are currently in production, providing customers worldwide with a sovereign launch option.
