Man City chase Fernandez, Arsenal eye Alvarez on deadline day

Manchester City and Arsenal are making frantic last-minute efforts to bolster their squads before the transfer window closes on September 1. With City having failed to match that price tag, they are considering reuniting with former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, who has shown interest in signing Fernandez.

Additionally, City are expected to sign Senegal midfielder Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for £65 million, a deal that Tottenham had previously linked to. Meanwhile, Arsenal is on the hunt for Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, who reportedly prefers a move to Barcelona but may be persuaded to accept a £128 million offer from the Gunners.

Alvarez's absence from recent training sessions and his lack of participation in Atletico's recent victory over Sevilla have raised concerns about his commitment. Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is also a target for Tottenham, while Liverpool is considering loan moves for Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr and Brighton's Yankuba Minteh.
