Wildberries warehouse burns near Moscow as Russia strikes across Ukraine

A Wildberries distribution center near Moscow caught fire after Ukrainian drones attacked the facility, part of one of the largest recent assaults on the Russian capital region, according to Bloomberg. Moscow regional governor Andrey Vorobyev reported that air defenses downed or suppressed 187 drones in the area overnight. Additional fires were also reported at a pharmaceutical warehouse in Domodedovo and an industrial facility in Voskresensk, resulting in three injuries.

Russia's defense ministry claimed to have intercepted a record 822 Ukrainian drones across the country the previous night. The Koledino Wildberries warehouse is one of the company's primary distribution hubs for the Moscow region, which has been a frequent target of Ukraine's campaign against Russian logistics infrastructure. Since mid-July, at least 20 of its warehouses have been attacked.

On the other hand, Russia launched missiles and drones against Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Odesa, and Kryvyi Rih. Ukraine's air force claimed to have intercepted or suppressed three cruise missiles and 85 drones, while strikes were reported at 13 locations. Russia alleged that the attacks targeted military-industrial facilities in Kyiv, the Kremenchuk oil refinery, and ArcelorMittal's mining and steel complex in Kryvyi Rih, causing damage to the main energy and blast-furnace production facility.

This led to a halt in production, as reported by RBC-Ukraine. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that two individuals were killed and 14 wounded in the Kryvyi Rih strike, while another fatality was reported in the Sumy region, and six people were injured in Kyiv and the surrounding area. The latest strikes underscore the escalating campaign by both nations against logistics, industrial, and energy infrastructure far beyond their respective front lines.
