Ukraine launches one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, killing at least 6 people in Russia

At least three individuals have perished and over ten others sustained injuries in Ukraine following fresh Russian airstrikes, according to officials. Firefighters are battling a blaze ignited overnight at a market in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, after it was targeted by Russian missiles and drones. Ukraine claimed to have downed three Russian missiles and nearly 100 drones.

Concurrently, Moscow's mayor reported approximately 600 Ukrainian drones launched towards the city throughout the night. A warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce platform Wildberries was struck. Russia has ramped up aerial assaults across Ukraine in recent weeks, while Kyiv has intensified targeting of Russian logistics centers to impede military supply chains.

Air raid sirens have been heard four times since Saturday night in Kyiv. At least six people, including a child, were reportedly wounded, stated Mayor Vitali Klitschko. In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, regional head Ivan Fedorov disclosed that two people were killed when a Russian-guided aerial bomb demolished a residence. Officials in Dnipropetrovsk also reported one fatality and 14 injuries.

In Russia, three people were injured in a Ukrainian strike, as per Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. He added that roughly one-third of the drones Ukraine launched at the capital were neutralized. A Wildberries warehouse in Koledino, situated 25 kilometers from Moscow's center, endured a fire and a significant smoke plume following the attack, as per Sobyanin.

Videos captured the inferno and the massive cloud of smoke. Wildberries, colloquially referred to as Russia's Amazon, has been repeatedly targeted since July. Kyiv cited its targeting of logistics hubs utilized by Russians to procure military equipment and disrupting supplies to the Russian military as the rationale behind the strikes.

Separately, the Romanian defense ministry announced that a Spanish fighter jet shot down a drone breaching its airspace near the Ukrainian and Moldovan borders. The drone entered from Moldova and was intercepted by a NATO-deployed F-18 at 05:01 local time (02:01 GMT) on Sunday, the ministry reported, adding that debris fell in an uninhabited region of the Galati region, close to the Ukrainian border.
