Strait of Hormuz remains blocked; claims don't change reality: Iran dismisses Trump's 'total US control' claims

Tehran has dismissed President Donald Trump's assertion that the United States holds total control over the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the waterway remains blocked and will not reopen until Iran's conditions are met. The Persian Gulf Strait Authority emphasized on X that US claims of full control do not alter the current situation.

Trump's tweets on Truth Social claimed US dominance over the strait, describing a "WALL OF STEEL" naval deployment with no avenue for Iran to act. Iran's newly appointed Supreme National Security Council head, Mohsen Rezaei, echoed these concerns, demanding the US lift the war, blockade, release frozen assets, and broker a region-wide ceasefire before reopening the strategic passage.

The situation has heightened tensions amid military exchanges among Iran, Israel, and the US, raising fears of a wider regional conflict. Commercial shipping through the crucial passage continues under heightened security measures, but a resolution remains elusive.
