US President Donald Trump on Wednesday declared the United States has total control over the Strait of Hormuz, writing "I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT!" on his Truth Social platform. The US Naval blockade is being called "A WALL OF STEEL," with Iran having no Navy, Air Force, or remaining soldiers, according to Trump. Israeli officials believe the blockade is having a highly effective impact on Iran's economy, with the IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen.

Eyal Zamir stating this during a Security Cabinet meeting. The blockade has caused sustained disruptions to port operations and supply chains, which are crucial for Iran's imports and exports of goods, raw materials, fuel, and other essential products. The economic crisis in Iran is expected to worsen, with an anticipated 5.6% contraction in the economy this year, the sharpest decline since 1988.

The blockade is also causing price increases for essential goods like bread, which has risen by approximately 150%. Iranian citizens have largely remained off the streets, and annual inflation reached 88.6%. The US has also mine-swept the entire Strait of Hormuz, according to Trump.
