Perak cops arrest woman suspected of stabbing mother to death

In Kampar, Perak, a police officer has apprehended a woman who is suspected of brutally stabbing her own mother to death. The 70-year-old victim was discovered dead at her residence with stab wounds to her chest, following the horrific incident which is believed to have occurred around 7pm.

Perak police chief Alwi Zainal Abidin confirmed the details of the case, stating that the victim had recently returned from an elderly care center in Pusing to receive care at her home. The 49-year-old suspect was arrested following the filing of a police report by the victim's son-in-law.

According to Alwi, the suspect has a history of mental health issues, and early investigations have revealed that only the suspect and victim were present in the house during the incident. The suspect has been granted a remand until October 4 to aid in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder.
