Woman, two hotel workers linked to dumped body in Abuja – Police

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has linked a woman, Rukayat Muhammed, and two hotel workers, Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, to the dumping of a man's body found under the Katampe Bridge in Abuja. The body was discovered along the Kubwa Expressway on August 26, after the deceased had been reported missing by his family.

Initially, media reports and public commentary suggested the death was related to kidnapping and robbery. However, the police found that the deceased had been missing previously and began investigating his death. The investigation led them to Muhammed, a married woman who allegedly had a romantic relationship with the deceased and had saved his contact as "Safiyat" on her phone.

The pair had stayed at the Good Samaritan Guest House in Gwarimpa, where Muhammed allegedly discovered the deceased was no longer breathing. Rather than reporting the incident to the police, the suspect took the deceased's mobile phone and left the hotel. Several hours later, the body was found in the room by hotel management, who then transported it to the Kubwa Expressway by Katampe and dumped it under the bridge.

CP Ahmed Sanusi stressed that the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the man's death. Anyone found to have participated in the death or concealment of the body will face the law.
