China's Xi Jinping says he expects to meet Trump 2 more times this year

Washington — President Donald Trump will be taking Chinese President Xi Jinping to the National Archives in a show of the United States' most cherished documents, concluding a three-day state visit that has been criticized for its emphasis on ceremony over meaningful dialogue. Xi plans to depart after exploring the repository where the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are safeguarded.

Despite their joint efforts to maintain a harmonious relationship between the world's two largest economies, no significant progress has been made on matters such as trade or artificial intelligence regulation.

Xi has affirmed his intention to meet Trump two additional times this year. He has extended an invitation for Trump and his spouse, Melania, to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China, in November. Furthermore, Xi has suggested a potential meeting a month later at the G20 summit at the Trump National Doral golf club in Miami, Florida. "We cordially welcome Mr. President and the first lady to visit China," Xi remarked.
