China visit opens new investment, trade opportunities, says Anwar

Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent working visit to Shanghai and Hangzhou has created new investment and trade opportunities, according to Anwar. The visit highlighted Malaysia's capabilities on the global stage, including participation in the WorldSkills Competition and Summit, as well as the Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE).

Anwar shared that the trip resulted in meaningful outcomes, particularly in tapping into investment potential and strengthening trade cooperation, which would bring shared benefits and prosperity to both Malaysia and China. In a Facebook post, Anwar emphasized the importance of ensuring that advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and technological progress do not undermine human values.

He stressed that dialogue and cooperation should continue amidst global competition and uncertainty to build a fairer and more equitable world. Anwar noted that Malaysia-China diplomatic relations are now at an all-time high, and the momentum should be leveraged to explore new avenues of cooperation. He urged Malaysia and China to capitalize on their strong friendship to continue exploring promising areas of collaboration.

Anwar concluded that the Madani Diplomacy Tour would continue to be driven for the people and the people of Malaysia.
