Details on US, China trade talks to come on Monday, says Greer

The United States plans to disclose the results of its trade negotiations with China on Monday, according to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House on Thursday, but there were no apparent breakthroughs on numerous sensitive matters. Greer told CNBC that they are in a "managed trade situation" with progress achieved, and they will provide more details on Monday about the accomplishments in the recent trade negotiations with China.

The U.S. has consented to exempt certain essential goods from trade disputes, he said. These exempted goods include agricultural products and medical devices, while they expect to receive consumer goods and non-sensitive items from China. Greer added that the U.S. has reached agreements with China on several issues, leaving potential future trade disputes or tariff measures to be addressed separately.
