No minister is above scrutiny, Kingibe replies Wike

Senator Ireti Kingibe has responded to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, asserting that no minister or public office holder is above scrutiny. In her response, Kingibe challenged Wike to provide evidence of Senate approval for loans obtained by the FCT Administration, dismissing his previous claim that the government loans were captured in the budget and subjected to legislative approval.

The senator, representing the Federal Capital Territory, emphasized that her duty as a legislator is to ask questions, demand accountability, and defend constitutional principles. Kingibe rejected Wike's assertion about her future in the Senate, stating that the decision belongs to the voters in the FCT. She also condemned attempts to intimidate, silence or demean women in government, reiterating her commitment to scrutinise government activities and stand for the people she represents.
