I can’t be intimidated – Senator Kingibe fires back at Wike

Federal Capital Territory Senator, Ireti Kingibe, has responded to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's insults and threats, declaring she cannot be intimidated. In a post on her verified X account, Kingibe emphasized her duty to question, hold the government accountable and uphold constitutional principles. Wike had previously called her illiterate and threatened her re-election in 2027, following her accusation that he obtained a loan for the FCT without Senate approval.

Kingibe reaffirmed her commitment to scrutinizing matters requiring scrutiny and standing firm for her constituents. She also warned against attempts to intimidate, silence or demean women in government, stressing that the decision on who the people of the FCT will elect in 2027 lies solely with them. Kingibe affirmed her dedication to public service and the will of the FCT residents on election day.
