Man Utd put chunks of Old Trafford up for sale

Manchester United is offering supporters the chance to purchase preserved pieces of the Old Trafford pitch for £125 each. The ground, widely known as the Theatre of Dreams, has been the club's home since 1910, witnessing numerous historic moments, including their record 13 Premier League titles. Despite the stadium's storied past, Old Trafford underwent a significant transformation in June when it was entirely excavated and restored.

This renovation was carried out by groundsperson Tony Sinclair and his team, aiming to enhance player health and water drainage. During the process, sections of the pitch were meticulously preserved and later encapsulated in glass cubes to serve as a unique memento for Red supporters. The club's announcement comes amidst challenging times, with United finishing third in the Premier League last season but currently sitting 12th in the table after a poor start to the current campaign.

Moreover, the club reported its seventh consecutive annual loss, primarily due to increased expenses related to player acquisitions and the recent dismissal of Head Coach Ruben Amorim.
