Taylor Swift announces new song Patient Zero, her first since her wedding
The song is out on Friday (Sep 25).
Taylor Swift has unveiled her latest song, Patient Zero, marking her first release since her summer wedding to Travis Kelce. The pop icon announced the news via a cryptic countdown clock on her website, which concluded at 2 pm Eastern on Friday, September 25. Swifties, her devoted fans, deciphered her official Instagram bio change to “And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u,” hinting at the song's title.
Upon the countdown's end, her site unveiled three limited-edition CD versions of the new track, priced at US$3.99 each. Patient Zero is Swift's first new song since her July wedding and her album, The Life Of A Showgirl, released in October. The announcement precedes her historic MTV VMAs appearance, where she will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors, currently tied for the most with Beyonce.
Swift holds nine nominations at this year's awards show, following Madonna's 11. Her appearance at the VMAs may lead to further announcements, as Swift often makes news on stage.
