Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 15 years in prison in #MeToo-era case after retrial

Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Wednesday for sexually assaulting former production assistant Miriam Haley, according to prosecutors. This verdict comes after a 2025 retrial, following a prior conviction in 2020 which was later overturned by New York's highest court. The 2025 conviction was based on Haley's allegations of a 2006 assault at Weinstein’s Manhattan apartment, for which the maximum sentence is 25 years.

Weinstein has consistently denied all allegations of sexual misconduct. His legal troubles began in 2017 when he was publicly accused of sexual misconduct, leading to multiple trials and appeals.
