Bharat Taxi Launch: CM Yogi Adityanath Honours Saarthis, Signs MoUs To Expand Mobility Services In UP

On September 23 in Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored five Bharat Taxi Saarthis by presenting them share certificates and distributing loan cheques to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. Anil Kumar Singh received a ₹6 lakh loan, while Sanjay received ₹2 lakh. JPS Rathore, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Cooperative Department, presented a ₹2.69 crore cheque to the Chief Minister as a dividend from the UP State Warehousing Corporation.

Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, emphasized the significance of the Cooperative Department in supporting the poor, farmers, and middle-class citizens. He stated that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, the department has regained its original purpose, with cooperative banks now operating profitably. Pathak called for state citizens to join hands and make Bharat Taxi successful, noting that UP is transitioning from a culture of crime and country-made pistols to one of literacy, education, and development.

Murlidhar Mohol, Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, announced that Bharat Taxi services would launch not only in Lucknow but also in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Kanpur, and Prayagraj. Over 50,000 people from various districts had joined the program online, and more than ₹100 crore had been credited to driver brothers and sisters in the past six months.

Bharat Taxi currently operates in around 15 cities, with 40,000 drivers registered in Uttar Pradesh so far. The Cooperative Minister praised the rapid progress in computerizing PACS and digitizing rural banks. He expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh's cooperative model could inspire other states, with Bharat Taxi marking a new momentum in the cooperative movement in the mobility sector.
