Dubai-Sharjah traffic: Evening queues build on E11 and E311

Evening traffic in Dubai and Sharjah is encountering delays on certain main roads, according to Google Maps data from Wednesday evening. The E11 and E311 highways, both approaching the Sharjah border, are showing notable congestion. On E11, particularly around Sharjah, drivers can expect a significant slowdown with red sections appearing near the coast. Similarly, E311, or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, is experiencing a lengthier slow-moving section on its inland route, though conditions improve further south in Dubai.

Motorists heading home from Dubai should note that E44 has a mix of green and amber sections with some slower traffic around Al Aweer. However, many major roads in Dubai remain clear. In contrast, E611/Emirates Road appears predominantly green, offering a faster alternative for those not traveling directly to central Sharjah. For destinations in Al Khan, Al Majaz, or other central Sharjah areas, drivers may find the highway quicker despite occasional short delays.

Beyond Sharjah, the maps indicate mostly free-flowing conditions towards Ajman and the Northern Emirates, with only scattered patches of slower traffic. Drivers are advised to check navigation again before departing, as the snapshots provided are not live updates. The evening commute should focus on E11 and the Sharjah-bound sections of E311, while considering alternative routes for those heading to outer Sharjah or continuing north.
