CM Yogi Adityanath Launches Bharat Taxi, Farmer Scheme; Drivers Get Zero Commission & ₹5 Lakh Cover

Lucknow, September 23 - Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Bharat Taxi and Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana on Wednesday, two initiatives aimed at improving the lives of taxi drivers and farmers. Under Bharat Taxi, taxi, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler drivers can join with no commission upon registration and receive a 5 lakh rupee social security cover.

For farmers, the interest rate on loans provided through LDB has been reduced from 11% to 06%. The CM emphasized that good leadership can lead cooperation towards prosperity while poor leadership can steer it towards anarchy. Before 2017, taxi drivers often faced violence and theft, and roads were in poor condition. Under Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, lakhs of people were safely transported to Sangam using Rapido, without disrupting traffic.

The CM directed Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh to expand rural bus services in the manner of Bharat Taxi to create new employment opportunities. Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana provides farmers with reduced interest rates on loans, aiming to benefit 5 lakh small and marginal farmers. The CM also highlighted the progress made in the state's infrastructure, including expressways, four-lane roads, and improved village roads, which contribute to better connectivity and safer transportation.

Under the new scheme, farmers no longer face high loan interest rates, and the government has waived loans worth over Rs. 36,000 crore for 86 lakh small and marginal farmers.
