Butenko: Education Ministry recommends 3 learning models for schools amid prolonged air raids

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored 56 outstanding graduates from evening education centers on International Literacy Day, coinciding with the 2025/2026 academic year. The ceremony, held in collaboration with the Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, highlighted the vital role these centers play in expanding educational opportunities and promoting equal access to education in Qatar.

Minister Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi emphasized that evening education centers are a national model for inclusive learning, supporting the nation's sustainable development journey. The total number of graduates from these centers nationwide during the academic year reached 759, with 402 male and 357 female students. This achievement reflects the determination of students to complete their education despite various challenges.

Approximately 1,620 students, including 48.5% Qatari nationals and 51.5% non-Qatari students, were enrolled in evening centers during the same period. Assistant Director Fatima Yousuf Al Obaidli stated that obtaining a high school diploma marks the beginning of a new phase of learning, achievement, and self-development. The Continuing Education Department plays a pivotal role in providing opportunities for individuals who faced barriers in completing their education through the formal system, helping them develop capabilities and open new horizons in education, employment, and community engagement.

The ceremony featured a short film showcasing the challenges students overcame to reach graduation, highlighting the flexibility of evening centers in accommodating learners' various commitments. These centers, overseen by the Continuing Education Department, offer diverse educational options for different segments of society, supporting the state's vision of fostering human development and investing in people.
