Deputies respond to trespasser reported at ex-Vice President Kamala Harris’ Malibu home

Law enforcement officials and Kamala Harris' spokesperson confirmed that a trespasser was reported at the former Vice President's Malibu home on Friday night. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies arrived around 10:30 p.m. following a call from her private security detail about a suspicious individual. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the trespasser and advised them to leave, who complied without any issues.

The couple was not present at the time of the incident. Both Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, expressed gratitude towards the security and law enforcement personnel who responded promptly to the situation. It was stated that the individual had unlawfully entered the property and was stopped by security before reaching the house.

The sheriff's department mentioned that a trespassing report was filed and deputies from the local station would increase patrols in the vicinity as a precautionary measure. Former vice presidents generally receive federal protection for six months post-office, but former President Joe Biden extended Kamala Harris' protection beyond that period.

However, President Donald Trump rescinded the extension in August, which would have ended in the summer.
