Apple enters foldable era with iPhone Duo

Apple has unveiled its inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, ushering the company into the burgeoning foldable device market. This move positions Apple alongside industry peers Samsung, Google, and Huawei, who have been honing flexible screen technology and hinge robustness. The iPhone Duo complements Apple's existing flagship lineup with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, boasting variable aperture camera systems, improved thermal management, and advanced silicon processing.

Crafted from grade 5 titanium, the iPhone Duo showcases a mirror-finished body and a 3D-printed hinge cover, engineered to bolster display support and reduce strain during operation. Its dual displays, measuring 7.6 inches and 5.4 inches, provide a total screen real estate equivalent to that of an iPhone 18 Pro when unfolded. The device sports a Ceramic Shield back panel and front cover, enhancing scratch resistance and offering IP68 water and dust resistance.

Packed with innovative features, the iPhone Duo enables a novel imaging experience through its 48MP Fusion cameras and Center Stage front camera. Enhanced by Apple's A20 Pro chip and ProMotion technology, the device facilitates multitasking and multimedia consumption with features like Split View and Smart Take. Apple emphasized the device's capacity to redefine mobile productivity, citing its large, pocket-friendly display and the A20 Pro chip's capabilities.

Complementing the foldable flagship, Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which introduce a variable aperture camera system and advanced AI-based tools for content authenticity. Both models are powered by the A20 Pro chip, featuring a 2-nanometer process and enhanced thermal management. Priced competitively, Apple is integrating Siri AI and Apple Intelligence across both product lines, promising personalized, secure, and context-aware functionalities.
