Ukrainian commander, whose unit destroyed 57,000 Russia’s targets: US telling allies to brace for years of war at Ramstein means no “miraculous de-escalation” is coming

At the Ramstein meeting, US officials warned Ukraine's allies to brace for years of conflict, signaling that the recent round of US-Russia talks would not lead to a "miraculous de-escalation". Yurii Fedorenko, commander of Ukraine's 429th Achilles Unmanned Systems Brigade, emphasized that the message from US defense policy chief Elbridge Colby confirms the prolonged nature of the war.

Fedorenko, who leads a highly effective drone unit credited with over 57,000 strikes, highlighted the need for allies to prepare for a harsh winter in Ukraine and Russia's continued pursuit of a hybrid war against Europe. US officials dismissed hopes for a swift peace settlement, stating that peace talks would not yield results in the coming months.

Fedorenko argued that any long-term peace process would require the resolution of various issues, including prisoner exchanges, Black Sea navigation, and temporary ceasefires during international delegations' visits. He emphasized that Russia will continue to use these mechanisms to manipulate the situation to its advantage. Fedorenko warned that force will be the only language the Kremlin understands, urging the West to maintain sanctions on Russia and provide Ukraine with additional support until Russia shows signs of weakness.
