Russia’s trade ministry says not all marketplace warehouses damaged in Ukrainian drone strikes need to be rebuilt

Russian authorities and marketplace operators aim to determine by the end of 2026 whether all logistics complexes damaged in Ukrainian drone strikes require reconstruction, reported Russian state news agency TASS. Deputy head of the Industry and Trade Ministry, Roman Chekushov, stated that it is premature to conclude that a complete "100% restoration of the same logistics centers" is necessary.

By year-end, they will assess the extent of the damage, the logistics restructuring, and the necessity of government involvement in rebuilding. Ukraine has been launching drone attacks on Wildberries' largest warehouses in Russia since mid-June, followed by strikes on Ozon's warehouses. By early August, the damage to Wildberries and its sellers from these drone strikes was estimated at hundreds of billions of rubles.

In late August, Russia's government greenlit support measures, such as tax deferral, for both Wildberries sellers impacted by the warehouse strikes and the marketplace itself.
