Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe is a MacBook Neo competitor starting at $699

Lenovo has unveiled a new laptop, the IdeaPad Vibe, aimed at competing with Apple's MacBook Neo. Announced at Lenovo Innovation World ahead of IFA, the IdeaPad Vibe is designed to challenge the affordable and popular MacBook Neo.

The laptop offers two display options: a 14-inch or 15-inch OLED, and weighs 14.9mm thick and weighs in at 2.87lbs. This is thicker and larger than Apple's laptop, but not significantly heavier.

The IdeaPad Vibe comes in seven different color variants, offered in collaboration with Pantone. These colors include Dreamy Violet, Spicy Gold, Zen Green, Chill Blue, Radiant Coral, Moody Blue, and Lowkey Grey. The keyboard of the laptop has interchangeable keycaps that allow users to personalize the look with various color combinations.

The laptop has a range of ports including two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, a USB-A port, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. It also includes a 5MP webcam with a physical privacy cover, optional keyboard backlight, and a touchscreen option for the 15-inch model.

Lenovo provides two types of processors for the IdeaPad Vibe: AMD Ryzen AI 400 or Qualcomm Snapdragon X. The AMD version supports up to 32GB of RAM, which can be upgraded by the user, and also up to 1TB of storage. The Snapdragon version, on the other hand, supports up to 24GB of RAM, with storage that is upgradable but RAM is not.

The IdeaPad Vibe is set to launch in two waves. The first wave, featuring AMD models, will be available in October, followed by the Snapdragon models in November. Both models will start at a price of $699.99, matching the price of Apple's MacBook Neo after the latter's RAM-induced price increase.

Additionally, Lenovo is introducing the IdeaCentre AIO I, an all-in-one desktop computer with a 24-inch or 27-inch display, similar color options to the Vibe, and a starting price of $939. This will also be available starting in November.
