Tinubu hails rescue of 15 NYSC members, six others abducted in Kogi

President Bola Tinubu expressed satisfaction following the rescue of 15 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and six other Nigerians who were abducted by criminal elements in Kogi State. In a statement on X, Tinubu announced that the 21 abductees were rescued on Monday afternoon after a joint Search and Rescue operation conducted by the military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and local vigilantes.

The victims, comprising eight males and 13 females, were found in a kidnappers' den located in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. Tinubu praised the well-coordinated rescue effort, stating that the rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention before being reunited with their families. However, he emphasized that the operation against the kidnappers is not yet complete, as security forces are actively pursuing the fleeing suspects.

Tinubu reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the safety of Nigerians, both within and outside the country, and commended the security personnel involved in the successful rescue operation.
