Tinubu hails security forces after rescue of abducted NYSC members in Kogi

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hailed the security forces for their successful rescue of 21 people abducted in Kogi State, including 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The victims, who were kidnapped last week, were found safe on Monday afternoon after a joint Search and Rescue (SAR) operation by the military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilantes. The rescuers discovered the kidnappers' hideout in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The rescued individuals are currently receiving medical attention before being reunited with their families. Tinubu announced that security forces are still actively pursuing the fleeing kidnappers, in accordance with his directive to maintain pressure on criminal elements. Those responsible for the abduction will face the full force of the law, and Tinubu's administration will pursue everyone who aided the crime.

The president expressed his gratitude to the families of the victims for their patience and understanding throughout the ordeal. He also commended the security personnel involved in the operation, praising their courage, and assured parents of NYSC members that his administration will continue working to protect their lives and property.
