At least 27 dead after Russian strike on warehouse near Kyiv

Authorities in Ukraine report that at least 27 people died after a Russian drone strike on a warehouse near Kyiv's western suburbs on Saturday night. The facility, which Ukrainian prosecutors believe was storing explosives, caught fire and exploded following the attack. Myla, the town where the warehouse was located, is situated on the outskirts of Kyiv.

Taras Didych, mayor of the nearby village of Dmytrivska, among the deceased, was among those confirmed dead. The investigation into the tragedy will focus on whether the warehouse complied with legal requirements for storing such dangerous materials, as well as the validity of the permits it possessed. Prime Minister Sergiy Koretsky lamented that the same mistakes, seen in a July munitions depot attack in Vyshneve, were being repeated, stating that the lack of adherence to safety standards was "criminal negligence."
