Tottenham sign Man City's Marmoush on loan

Tottenham has secured Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan until the end of the season, with the option to make the deal permanent for £60 million next summer. The 27-year-old Egypt international will pair up with former teammate Savio, who recently transferred to north London for a reported £75 million fee.

Marmoush expressed his excitement about joining Tottenham, praising the club's project and its alignment with his ambitions. He has spoken with head coach Roberto de Zerbi, expressing his admiration for his vision and shared passion for the game.

The Egypt forward joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for £59 million and has netted 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions. Last season, Marmoush made 13 of his 21 league appearances from the bench, as Norway international Erling Haaland was the club's primary central striker.

Marmoush's recent appearances for City included a substitute role in their Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and an unused substitution in their Premier League win over Bournemouth last Sunday. Spurs have made considerable investments this summer, spending over £312 million. Other recent signings include Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, alongside defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, as well as goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who arrived on a free transfer.

De Zerbi hailed Marmoush as a perfect fit for the club, praising his ambition, hunger, and determination to make an impact with his pace, intelligence, and goal-scoring threat.
