Tottenham sign Man City's Marmoush on loan

Tottenham Hotspur has bolstered their squad with the signing of Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent for £60 million next summer. The 27-year-old Egyptian player will pair up with fellow City teammate Savio at Tottenham. Marmoush, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million in January 2025, expressed his excitement about the opportunity, mentioning his positive conversations with head coach Roberto de Zerbi and their shared passion for the game.

In his time at City, Marmoush has scored 16 goals in 62 games across all competitions. However, after a strong start to his City career, he found himself on the bench last season, with Erling Haaland taking the central striker role. Marmoush was only used as a substitute in City's Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and was not used in their Premier League win over Bournemouth.

Tottenham's summer transfer window has seen significant spending, with the club committing over £312 million. New signings include Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, and Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton, alongside defenders Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, as well as goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who joined on a free transfer.

Roberto de Zerbi praised Marmoush, calling him an ambitious player with incredible attacking quality and a strong desire to improve and win. He believes Marmoush can elevate Tottenham's attacking play to new heights.
