São José and Goiatuba draw 0-0 in Série D promotion play-off

São José-RS and Goiatuba-GO concluded the first leg of the Série D promotion playoffs with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night (26) at the Francisco Noveletto stadium in Porto Alegre. Despite the result, both teams find themselves evenly matched heading into the return leg on equal terms to secure promotion to Série C.

The decisive match is set to take place on Wednesday (2) at the Divino Garcia Rosa Stadium in Goiatuba, Goiás, with Goiatuba hosting São José-RS. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Brasília time). Should the match end in a draw once again, the teams will proceed to a penalty shootout to determine the champion.

Meanwhile, in another part of Brazil, Nacional-AM and CSA-AL will begin their quest for promotion on Thursday night (27). The Amazonas team will host Alagoas at the Arena da Amazônia in Manaus, with the match broadcast by Metrópoles.
