Eagle Online publisher Dotun Oladipo dies at 56

Dotun Oladipo, the Managing Director and CEO of Premium Eagle Media Limited and the parent company of Eagle Online, died at the age of 56. The news of his death was announced on Wednesday via the Eagle Online website. According to the publication, Oladipo was in good health earlier that day before suddenly falling ill at his office. His death was described as a "shock" to his colleagues, friends, and associates.

The Cable reported that Oladipo drove himself to an unnamed hospital before his passing. His death was confirmed by the President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, Danlami Nmodu, who announced it on the guild's WhatsApp platform on Tuesday. Oladipo was also the Emeritus President of the guild.

The General Secretary of the Innovative Media Partners Cooperative Multipurpose Society, Nkanu Egbe, announced Oladipo's sudden death on Wednesday, expressing deep sorrow for the loss. Oladipo had led the cooperative with dedication and had a distinguished journalism career spanning nearly three decades. Funeral arrangements and other details would be communicated later.

Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, described Oladipo as a "complete gentleman, accomplished digital journalist and remarkable human being." He expressed heartfelt condolences to Oladipo's family, friends, colleagues, and the entire community of digital journalists in Nigeria.
