3 more nabbed over illegal race on Malaysia-Singapore 2nd Link

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian police have apprehended three additional individuals in their probe into an illegal motorcyclist race that reportedly obstructed the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link highway. Tan Seng Lee, chief of Kulai police, announced that all three suspects were apprehended in Kuala Lumpur and will be presented to the district court for a remand application.

This brings the cumulative count of detained individuals in connection with the illegal race to 11, according to Kosmo. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Lee stated in a recent statement. Earlier on Sunday, eight individuals, including a motorsport influencer, were detained and granted four days remand to aid the investigation.

The incident is believed to have taken place around 7am on Sunday, targeting the highway segment from KM33 (Senai Toll Exit) to KM31 (Johor Premium Outlet Exit). A 30-second video, which gained viral traction, depicted a group of individuals blocking motorists on the highway to enable the race.
