Three more nabbed over illegal race on Malaysia-Singapore Second Link

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — Malaysian police have apprehended three more individuals in connection with a brazen illegal street race that caused significant traffic disruptions along the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, according to Kulai police chief Tan Seng Lee. The total number of detained suspects in this incident now stands at 11, as reported by Kosmo.

These three new arrests will be brought before the court for a remand application. Police are conducting further investigations under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Lee stated. Earlier, eight men, including a motorsport influencer, were arrested on Sunday, including a four-day remand order to aid the ongoing investigation.

The unlawful race occurred around 7am on Sunday along the KM33 (Senai Toll Exit) to KM31 (Johor Premium Outlets Exit) stretch of the expressway. A 30-second viral video showed the group blocking morning motorists across the expressway, prompting widespread public outrage as they cleared the route for the race.
