Prime Minister confirms Felda forensic audit proposal will be tabled at Cabinet meeting soon

Serendah, August 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that a proposal for a forensic audit into the management of the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felda) will be presented to the Cabinet for discussion, media reported. The Prime Minister made this statement after attending the National Maulidur Rasul Celebration at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Anwar addressed a query about Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's proposal, which suggested that a forensic audit should be conducted to investigate potential abuse of power, breach of trust, or governance violations within Felda's management. Zahid had previously argued that a management audit alone was inadequate, considering the prolonged issues and substantial financial losses associated with the agency's operations.

Anwar had previously indicated his intention to wait for the comprehensive findings of the special task force examining Felda's management concerns before making any official announcement. The task force had commenced its investigation, with its report anticipated to be presented soon, mirroring the approach taken by the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on Tabung Haji.
