Kabinet akan bincang cadangan audit forensik Felda, kata Anwar

Kementerian Perdana, Anwar Ibrahim, stated during his appearance at the National Mauludur Rasul Celebration at the Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang that the proposal for a forensic audit of Felda will be brought before the Cabinet for consideration. He mentioned that this matter will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting. He said this when met by reporters after the National Mauludur Rasul Celebration at the Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang, according to Bernama.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged for a forensic audit of Felda to investigate various allegations, including abuse of power and mismanagement. Zahid said the investigation should clearly determine the cause of Felda's losses and identify those responsible. He also expressed openness to setting up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) for the investigation of Felda, but stressed it should not aim to harass or humiliate any individual.

According to him, those responsible should be brought to court if there is strong evidence. This month, Anwar had said Felda suffered nearly RM10 billion loss due to mismanagement and excessive political interference. He was also reported to have said the government would soon disclose to the public a report by a special task force on Felda, including information about the problems inherited by the agency.
