Kabinet akan bincang cadangan audit forensik Felda, kata Anwar

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim stated during his appearance at the National Maulidur Rasul Sambutan that proposals for a forensic audit of Felda will be brought to the Cabinet for consideration. He mentioned this during an encounter with reporters after the National Maulidur Rasul Sambutan at Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang.

Last Sunday, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged for a forensic audit of Felda to investigate various allegations, including abuse of power and poor management. Zahid stated that such an investigation is needed to clearly determine the cause of Felda's losses and identify those responsible. He also expressed openness to the establishment of a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to investigate Felda, but emphasized it should not aim to harass or shame any individual.

According to him, those responsible should be brought to court if strong evidence exists. Earlier this month, Anwar had said Felda had incurred nearly RM10 billion in losses due to mismanagement and excessive political interference. He was also reported to have said the government would soon disclose a special task force report on Felda, including information on the issues inherited by the agency.
