Ex-Gombe governor Goje debunks defection rumour, reaffirms APC membership

Former Gombe Governor Danjuma Goje has refuted rumors of his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his membership in the party. Goje, a founding member of the APC, dismissed speculation following a visit from hundreds of supporters seeking clarification about his political future ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to his supporters, Goje emphasized his loyalty to the party and urged them to remain steadfast in their support. He noted that, given his extensive political experience and positions held, it would be inappropriate for him to switch parties at this stage of his life. Goje, who has been politically active for almost 45 years, recalled his eight successful election campaigns and urged supporters to cooperate with party leaders and maintain their loyalty.

The former governor, who previously served as a two-term governor and five times in the Senate, also assured his supporters that his empowerment programs would continue, regardless of his political status.
