Imran Khan's sister Noreen Niazi meets him at Rawalpindi's Adiala jail

RAWALPINDI: Noreen Niazi, sister of imprisoned ex-PM Imran Khan, visited him at Adiala jail on Tuesday for the first time this year, following a Supreme Court order that allowed weekly family meetings. Imprisoned since August 2023 for a £190 million corruption case, Khan is serving a 14-year sentence at Adiala jail. The sisters discussed his health and other issues during their meeting in the jail's conference room.

Noreen also informed Imran about the SC's earlier order for him to be admitted to Shifa International Hospital for a medical checkup. Meanwhile, Imran's other sisters and a cousin were denied entry at a security checkpoint on Adiala Road. PTI members and government officials were present at the checkpoint, where a large police presence was visible.

Bushra Bibi, Imran's wife, met with the family in the jail's conference room for 40 minutes to discuss her health and legal matters. The family emphasized that justice was being served, but rejected media interviews upon leaving the jail.
