Trump posts photo with NK leader Kim, says he, Kim 'get along great'

President Donald Trump shared a photograph on Saturday showcasing his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the Panmunjom village, situated along the inter-Korean border in 2019. In his post, Trump asserted that he and Kim share a great rapport. This statement emerged as the White House has consistently maintained that Trump remains receptive to dialogue with Kim, regardless of the conditions, though the likelihood of Pyongyang's participation in talks remains uncertain due to growing economic, diplomatic, and military collaborations between North Korea and Russia.

Despite the serious expression in the aforementioned photo, Trump proclaimed on Truth Social that his interactions with Kim Jong Un are always accompanied by smiles, emphasizing that "Kim Jong Un and I get along GREAT!" Over the course of his first term, Trump engaged in three face-to-face meetings with Kim: the first in Singapore in June 2018, the second in Hanoi in February 2019, and the third in the Panmunjom meeting in June 2019.

The latter meeting garnered significant international attention, as Trump briefly set foot on North Korean territory by crossing the Military Demarcation Line alongside Kim, marking the first instance of a U.S. president doing so. In June, Trump also posted on Twitter regarding another meeting with Kim.
