Khidmat Aminuddin masih diperlukan bimbing pemimpin muda PKR, kata Anwar

Presiden Parti Kebangsaan Rakyat (PKR) Anwar Ibrahim has emphasized the continued necessity of Aminuddin Harun's guidance for the party's younger leaders following the party's defeat in the Peninsular Malaysia General Election (PRN) in Negeri Sembilan earlier this month. Identifying Aminuddin as a close friend, Anwar highlighted that the former Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister's experience is still valuable, particularly in mentoring the younger cadre and strengthening PKR.

He acknowledged that not all objectives can be achieved and that there are losses and setbacks in any contest. However, his admiration and pride for Aminuddin surpass those, he said during the PKR 2026 Congress in Melaka International Trade Centre. Anwar also praised Aminuddin for accepting the defeat in Negeri Sembilan with composure and not blaming anyone else.

This should serve as an example to other party members. In his recounting, Aminuddin took responsibility for PKR and PH's defeat in the Negeri Sembilan PRN on August 1. The election saw the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) winning 25 out of 36 seats, thus reclaiming control of Negeri Sembilan from the PH. Aminuddin also resigned from the DUN Linggi seat.

PKR only won two out of the 16 seats contested, while DAP secured nine out of 11 contested seats, and Amanah failed to win any. As a result, six of the six Negeri Sembilan PKR leaders demanded Aminuddin's resignation from the party's leadership position.
