Khidmat Aminuddin masih diperlukan bimbing pemimpin muda PKR, kata Anwar

Presiden Parti Kebangsaan Rakyat (PKR), Anwar Ibrahim, has emphasized the continued necessity of Deputy President Aminuddin Harun's guidance for the party's younger leaders following the party's defeat in the Negeri Sembilan state poll last month. Referred to as Anwar's close friend, Anwar highlighted that Aminuddin's past experience as a former State Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan remains valuable, particularly in mentoring young party leaders and strengthening PKR.

While acknowledging that it is impossible to satisfy all stakeholders and that some have failed or lost in the contest, Anwar expressed his deep respect and pride in Aminuddin's acceptance of the defeat in a gracious manner, setting an example for other party members. Notably, Aminuddin took responsibility for PKR and the broader Pakatan Harapan's (PH) loss in Negeri Sembilan's polls on August 1, where the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 25 out of 36 seats, ousting the PH from ruling Negeri Sembilan.

Aminuddin also lost his own Parliamentary seat in Linggi. PKR won only two out of 16 contested seats, while the Democratic Action Party (DAP) took nine of 11 and Amanah failed to win any. Consequently, six out of Negeri Sembilan's 13 PKR members urged Aminuddin to step down as the state's party leader.
