In the immediate aftermath, Davido's social media presence was dominated by posts and messages expressing his delight and support for Ademola Adeleke. The election, which was marked by intense competition between Adeleke, the incumbent governor running on the Accord Party ticket, and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), saw Adeleke secure 511,067 votes compared to Oyebamiji's 444,815 votes.
