Cops probe alleged damage to statue at Bentong Hindu temple

Police in Bentong are investigating allegations that a statue at a Hindu temple in Bukit Tinggi has been damaged. The incident came to light after photos of the damaged statue were shared online yesterday, according to Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar. However, no police reports have been lodged thus far. The police chief emphasized that the matter is being taken seriously and will undergo a thorough investigation to determine the cause and involved parties.

Zaiham also cautioned against the spread of unverified information and urged individuals with relevant information to contact the Bentong police headquarters. He urged all parties to act responsibly and refrain from making statements or sharing content that could exacerbate tensions, particularly those involving racial and religious issues, in order to maintain public order and social harmony. The Malaysia Hindu Sangam stated that they are currently investigating the incident.
